More Suggestions: Tree Farm Edition

My favorite time of the year is coming up- I absolutely love getting holiday cards from family and friends. I especially love them if I took the pictures!

This year, we're spending days at Mistletoe Acres Tree Farm to capture beautiful memories that are shared to celebrate the season. As another tree farm session is coming up, so I wanted to follow up from a few posts ago, Christmas Sessions - What to Wear, and remind you of a few things:

First, I understand that few things can be more frustrating than getting everyone ready for a photoshoot only to realize something is missing. Something physical like a shoe or something intangible like the vibe of the outfits. So here are some suggestions...

Prepare (at least) the day before- get all clothes, shoes, socks- everything- out and lay them together. Remember, you don't need 100% matching, but you want coordinating.

Pick your vibe- you know we'll be at the acres in October and November, but you don't have to dress for the current weather- if you want your photos to look distinctly winter, bring scarves!

Compliment- Red or maroon look great with black, winter white, denim and khaki. Plaids are festive and can be an accent or focal while others wear solids from the pattern.

Smile! At the end of the day, colors can be toned and a shoeless foot can be hidden, but your feelings are what come through. Stressors can (and do) come up but we have to remember that these sessions are for a snapshot in time and meant to be happy and bring joy. Let that happiness come through!

Smiling family with coordinating outfits. Red dress on child, adults in solid shirts and woman in plaid scarf

If you need inspiration- look through some photos of tree farm sessions and pick your favorite elements. If you're stuck, email me! I look forward to seeing you soon!
